July 17-18: Seattle to Portland 200 mile bike ride (STP)
Every year approximately 10,000 cyclist ride from Seattle to Portland, taking either one or two days to complete the 200 mile distance. David Bradley, a Northern California ultra cyclist and a liposarcoma patient at MD Anderson, will be taking part in the weekend fun as part of Team Raven Lunatics. This event is a fully supported cycling event that goes beyond the level of the casual bike ride. David will be joined by a number of his ultra cycling friends for the event.

July 24-25: Race Across Oregon (RAO)
RAO is a 534-mile, non-stop bicycle race that starts in Hood River on the flanks of Mt. Hood and completes a loop through the eastern Oregon high desert. Participants compete non-stop and must finish the grueling race in a 48 hour time cut off. The race is on open roads with vehicle support and crew support. Racing for Team Raven Lunatics will be Dennis Johnson and supported in the crew vehicle by David Bradley, William Spaeth, and Sharon Stevens (all ultra racers). RAO is an epic race through truly scenic country. The race is so tough that only about 50% of the solo entries are able to finish the race.

October 2-3: Furnace Creek 508 (508)
This event is a 508 mile race that starts in Santa Clarita, CA, just north of Los Angeles. The race travels through the Antelope Desert, Death Valley National Park, and the Mojave Desert finishing in Twenty Nine Palms, CA. Team Bacchetta Raven Lunatics will be a four person recumbent bicycle team that plans on setting a very fast four person relay team record. The time cut off for teams is 46 hours and, like the solos, the race continues non-stop. Team Bacchetta Raven Lunatics will be comprised of David Bradley, Jim Kern, John Schlitter, and William Spaeth. Sandy Earl will provide crew support for the four racers. By the way, Sandy will be competing this June in Race Across America (a 3000 mile 11 day odyssey) as the first ever solo female to attempt the race on a recumbent bicycle. Sandy, of course, will be sporting Team Sarcoma logos on her support vehicles.
